About David Garmston

David's roots in Bristol run deep. He was born in the city in the summer of 1958 – and he's still there. He is a well known face across the west country and works as a television reporter and broadcaster.

His school was Cotham Grammar and his first job was in newspapers in Kent. But he returned to Bristol to work in radio before moving into television. David is well immersed in the community and is the Hon. Patron of the breast cancer charity Bosom Buddies, and Hon. President of the Bristol Film Unit, a charity which shows movies to the elderly and housebound.

David is married to Julia and they have two teenage children.
